Part of Biopharmaceutical Development & Production Week

On March 2-6, 2009 Biopharmaceutical Development & Production Week welcomed 668 attendees, including representatives from 18 of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies. IBC's Inaugural Non-Antibody Protein Therapeutics Development & Production was added to the conference line up for 2009 expanding the programming to cover bioprocessing topics for all proteins and was a great success!

At this conference, development scientists, process development scientists and engineers, and executives from virtual protein therapeutic start-up companies, CMOs, and biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies of all sizes gathered together to discuss development and production issues they are currently facing in the non-antibody protein therapeutics market.

Attendees learned how to solve expression and production bottlenecks with innovative molecular engineering approaches. They gained insights into how to boost therapeutic function by using molecular recognition scaffolds and discover new tools for improving therapeutic formulations. Plus, attendees were able to explore the spectrum of tools, generic and novel, that may enhance your process development workflow.

In addition to the data-driven case studies that were delivered, Dr. David Robinson from Merck & Co., Inc. delivered a keynote address that explored alternatives to animal cells for expression of therapeutic proteins.

Plus, the "Sold Out" exhibition was the largest ever for this event with a total of 75 booths and networking abounded as evidenced by the heavy traffic in every isle during the refreshment breaks, luncheons and cocktail receptions.

Planning is now underway for 2010 and IBC will return back to the La Costa Resort on Spa on March 1-5 - join our priority contact list for latest updates on this conference for 2010!
