The 2008 event marks the arrival and maturity of China into the global pharmaceutical R&D industry. With more than 350 attendees from China, US, Europe, Singapore, Korea, India, Japan and rest of world, the event is a showcase of Who's Who in the world pharmaceutical stage!

The first day opened with 4 outstanding Keynotes from Merck, Pfizer, GSK and Novartis, who shared their vision of how China is becoming an integral part of their global R&D strategy and the areas at which they are focusing on. This was followed by an interactive and dynamic exchange between Research Directors of multi-national corporations based in China and the local home-grown pharmaceutical giants.

The most unique feature of the event was China's Top 5. This session featured leading experts including Dr. Rao Zihe, Dr. Wang Xiao-Liang, Dr. Xu An-Long, Dr. Ming-wei Wang and Dr. Tao Peng. These presentations shared highly innovative research that will propel China into the next generation of innovative research in the coming years.

Other sessions focused on leading the way in R&D to clinical development, as well as partnering strategies and case studies in various stages of discovery to development to clinical, on small molecules to biologics to TCM.
