- BDP Week 2015 to incorporate content from these targeted IBC Life Sciences' conferences: Flexible Facilities and Single-Use Applications.
11th Annual Single-Use Applications 2014 conference, Boston, MA, June 9, 2014: IBC Life Sciences, an Informa business dedicated to providing rich conference content, valuable connections and business development opportunities, today opened the 11th Annual Single-Use Applications 2014 conference with the news that it will combine four events to create the most in-depth and comprehensive concept-to -commercialization experience for biopharmaceutical professionals.
BDP Week 2014 took place recently, welcoming roughly 700 attendees to San Diego. The event featured 4 days of case studies and new data presentations across 9 conference tracks. Day 1 keynote speakers Joanne Beck (Shire) and Matthew Croughan (Keck Graduate Institute) kicked off the conference with presentations on Lifecycle Management of Production Processes and Viral Contamination: Lessons Learned over 30 Years, while Day 3 keynotes Jeffrey Baker (FDA) and R. Thomas Warf (BARDA) gave provocative talks on Drug Quality and Flexible Production Technologies and Facilities. One of the highlights of the meeting was Tina Larson's (Genentech) "10 Innovations in 10 Minutes" discussion during her talk which discussed some of the key technologies driving progress in the field.
Several interactive discussions in the Process Validation, Manufacturing, Raw Materials, Viral Safety and other tracks were filled with audience Q&A (and debate - especially in the Town Hall Forum on Change Control and Change Management of Single Use Systems) which allowed for a healthy exchange of ideas. There was a lot of activity in the exhibit hall around the posters (coinciding with the launch of IBC's Virtual Poster Series which was on display) and there was excellent networking and activity in the exhibit hall, especially during the "Mardis Gras" and "Mexican Fiesta" receptions and the BDP Week Passport Prize Drawings. The BDP Week Beach Party, which took place outside overlooking beautiful San Diego Harbor, was a hit with attendees who stayed long after sunset to continue the networking.
