Dr. Andrus' Keynote Address, "New Vaccine Introduction in Developing Countries: Perspectives from the Americas" will discuss rotavirus, pneumococcus, and human papilloma vaccines which each have the potential to prevent thousands of deaths in developing countries.

However, these developing countries must undergo a more rigorous analysis of a broader base of evidence if they are going to introduce these vaccines, which are more expensive than the traditional vaccines, into their national immunization programs. Dr. Andrus will present the partnership that has been developed in the Americas to help ensure evidence-based decisions are taken.
